BIRMINGHAM, AL November 13, 2020 — Pack Education today announced its formal approval as a Continuing Education Provider for the National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching (NBHWC). This follows NBHWC’s approval of Pack Education’s Health and Wellness Coach Training and Education Program in October 2019. The partnership further expands Pack Education’s role as a leader in the education of health and wellness coaches.
NBHWC is the industry leader in health coaching certification. In partnership with the National Board of Medical Examiners, NBHWC established professional standards for health coaching based on a survey of more than 1,000 practicing health coaches and extensive job task analysis. Their Wellness Coach Certifying Examination for the National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) certification evaluates how coaches structure sessions for their clients, their knowledge of health behaviors and chronic disease, as well as ethics and legal considerations.
“We’re thrilled to continue our partnership with the National Board of Health and Wellness Coaches,” says M’Kayl Lewis, NBC-HWC, Vice President of Member Services at Pack Education. “We pride ourselves on our ability to create impactful, engaging content to support NBHWC’s certified coaches. We’re excited to continue to expand their options for continued learning.”
To meet the recertification requirements, those possessing the NBC-HWC designation must complete 36 hours of continuing education related to health and wellness coaching every three years. Pack Education will continue to offer courses in flexible formats, including online and in-person, that address a variety of topics related to health and wellness coaching.
“As the Executive Director of the NBHWC, I am very excited about the courses Pack Education has created for National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coaches to continue increasing their knowledge about coaching, health, and cultural competency,” says Leigh-Anne M. Webster, NBC-HWC, Executive Director of the NBHWC. “Pack Health has been a great organization to work with and we thank them for their continual support and leadership in the field of health & wellness coaching.”
